about me

Ryan is a highly engaged and creative director with a keen interest in music and commercial projects.
Ryan attended The National Film School, IADT and graduated in 2020, with the Graduation film Post Love, which he wrote, going on to screen in DICFF, Fastnet Film Festival, CAMERAimage, CIFF, KIFF and NFFTY where it was awarded the Audience Award.
After graduation, he began work on “The Last Duel” (dir. Ridley Scott) and continued to work within the Irish Film and Television sector, taking note of the practices and talents of professional industry directors with notable titles including KIN, Fate, Magpie Murders and Small Things Like These.
With a love of Irish storytelling and a desire to explore the cerebral element of the human condition, Ryan looks to weave between the internal and external self through vivid, symbolic imagery that the viewer can relate to.
With a heavy involvement in Irish music, he has collaborated with many rising and emerging bands since 2021, with names such as CABL, Bold Love, Scustin, Naked Lungs and Tung in Cheek. Ryan crafts engaging narrative videos and live sessions alike. This started with the establishment of Bad Craic Sessions, an independent live-session brand that gave emerging artists the means to create a video unique to their sound and image.
Moving forward, Ryan is looking to develop further as a director and is set to direct his first spec commercial in early 2025, alongside a project for quickly rising Irish noise-rock band Nerves.
Ryan’s work has been featured in NME, HotPress, Kerrang!, Nialler9, RockAmbula, GodisintheTV, BeatsPerMinute, Clunk Magazine, Dork Magazine, Soundsphere Magazine, The Needle Drop (Anthony Fantano), New Noise Magazine.
